Getting started

How do I start time announcements?

Open TalkingTime, turn Master Enable on, and choose your schedule. Review the selected times, voice, and volume, then return normally to the Home Screen so the app can prepare its announcements.

Allow Notifications and Sounds when asked. The app uses scheduled notifications to deliver announcements while you are away from its settings.

What is the difference between Easy and Custom Schedule?

Easy Schedule provides a selection of announcement times and a Repeat mode. Custom Schedule supports specific times and dates. Pro unlocks editing Easy Schedule and creating a Custom Schedule. Use the Help button in the schedule editor for the controls available in your version.

Why can’t I select more announcement times?

The schedule editor shows a selected-count limit. Keep your schedule within the limit shown and remove times you no longer need. Avoid relying on old instructions about a separate “Quarter hour ding” switch; use the time selections and Repeat mode in the current editor.

Sound & reliability

Announcements are missing or silent. What should I check?
  1. Confirm Master Enable is on and the expected time is selected in the active schedule.
  2. Check the device’s Notifications settings for TalkingTime, including Allow Notifications and Sounds.
  3. Check Silent mode, Focus, and alert volume in Sounds & Haptics.
  4. Open It’s not working in TalkingTime for the app’s current checks and recommended next steps.

Return normally to the Home Screen rather than force-closing the app from the app switcher. Test an upcoming announcement after making changes.

Why is the announcement quiet when media volume is high?

Notification sound volume can differ from music or video volume. Check Settings → Sounds & Haptics on the device and TalkingTime’s Volume help. Also check whether sound is being routed to headphones or another connected device.

I hear a notification tone or the wrong words. What now?

Open It’s not working and follow the available checks. Note the exact time, what you expected, what you heard, and the output device. If the problem continues, use its support tools or send Feedback. The old FAQ’s iOS 10 explanation is not a diagnosis for a current device.

What should I do after travel or a daylight-saving time change?

Open TalkingTime, check the device time and your schedule, and return to the Home Screen. Confirm the next expected announcement. If a time is still wrong, include the date, time zone, selected schedule, and actual announcement time in Feedback.

Why do I hear something different on headphones or Apple Watch?

Notification delivery and spoken-notification features can depend on your connected devices and system settings. Use It’s not working for the relevant checks. Tell support whether you expected sound on the phone, headphones, car, or watch; these are different delivery situations.
